Salutations! I’m Clarissa Choo, also known as Clarissa Choo-Choo Train in writing communities. Choo is my real surname, whereas Choo-Choo Train is made up, of course. How did I create this funny surname? Well, I got the idea from memories of grade school teasing. My real surname sounds exactly like Choo, when a steam-engine train goes “Choo-Choo”. Years later as a teenager, I set it as my Facebook name for laughs, but the jokes on me when one of my dad’s colleagues recognised me as the Choo-Choo Train. The name stuck, and thus, I used it for my blog posts and TCK Letters.
Anyway, I’m a young adult in my twenties. Christ saved me when I was seven years of age, and I desire to glorify Him through my life. I want to sow the Gospel seeds, and to serve third culture kids*, teens, writers, and Christians in general.
As you may have guessed, I’m an adult third culture kid; specifically, a former business kid. I was born in Singapore, and when I was five, my family moved to South Korea. We lived there for four years before moving to a closed country. We were there for four years too. Afterwards, we were repatriated to Singapore. I lived there for eight years. Then we moved again. This time, to Europe. We stayed in the Czech Republic for two years before repatriating to Singapore.
Phew! I hope that my mini-biography isn’t confusing. Although I had many physical homes, Heaven is my only Home. It’s the Place where my soul will be with my Saviour.
The ministries I’m serving in are writing (TCK Email Ministry), piano music for church, and–I hope to soon include–teens.
As a reader, I love reading the Bible, classics, mysteries, Christian fiction, and clean fiction. And as a writer, my genres are non-fiction, contemporary, mystery, medieval, and allegory.
Other minor things about me: I’m a business graduate who studied management and international business; my hobbies include playing the piano, listening to Christian and classical music, and of course, writing and reading books.
Very Sincerely Yours,
Clarissa Choo-Choo Train

My Vision As a Writer
~ Crafting stories and words integrated with Biblical Truths, so that He’ll use it to sow the Gospel seeds, draw readers to Jesus Christ, and further His Kingdom (Mark 16:15).
~ Serving Him as a vessel used for His glory and not mine.
~ Continuing to grow in Christ and be more like Him in my life and stories.
~ Striving for my thoughts and words to be true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, of virtue, and that they give praise to the Lord (Philippians 4:8).
“He must increase, but I must decrease.”
John 3:30, KJV
