Snippets of Truth: “I am fearfully and wonderfully made”

“For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”

Psalm 139:13-14, KJV

This is a scene from when I was living in the Czech Republic:

My family waited for the green man to light up so we could cross. White fluff cascaded around us.

“It’s snowing!” I told my parents. I watched a fluff fall on my black glove. I peered closer. Although small, it showed its intricate details and the Hand of the Maker. I smiled.

“Mom, look!”

Before she could see, it melted.

This memory appeared before me when I saw pictures of snow. Recalling it made me sad that the snowflake melted so quickly, yet I was happy. Because it reminded me that although our lives are short, the Maker is designing us to be more like Jesus. And like how the snowflake reminded me of Him, our lives will praise Him, pointing others to Christ.

  1. Wow, thanks for this timely reminder of our primary role: praising our Creator. 🙂 This makes life beautiful and worth living, “just because He lives”. All the sorrow, grief, and all sorts of sadness seems insignificant with this perspective in mind.

P.S. I love reading “Snippet of Truth.” It reminds me of a school blog project I had, but mine was called “Truth Nuggets.” Can’t wait to read more of these.
